Crossrail Visualisation tool

A virtual reality tool created to allow engineers to visualise and interact with a range of different types of data from point cloud laser scans to 3D models.

Immersive access to construction sites from anywhere in the world.

Crossrail is building a new railway for London and the South East England. As part of the project they are building 42km of new tunnels and eight sub-surface stations under one of the busiest cities in the world.

We know that it can be difficult to get everybody together in one location at the same time, and that site visits can have a disruptive effect on ongoing work.

More importantly, we also know that seeing what the site is really like is essential to fully understand what’s going on since things don’t always go according to plan.

Virtual Visits

With a number of engineers being able to access the site virtually, it means that there are no disruptions to other works in the real site.

Toolkit

Change and edit the site with tools ranging from measurements and annotations to adding custom 3D models in the scene.

Data Visualisation

Users are able to view and interact with various types of data, including laser scans point cloud, photogrammetry and CAD data.
